Tony Haven, the comfort zone.
Mar 2 2009, 6:01 PM EST | Post edited: Mar 2 2009, 6:01 PM EST
Hi all, i just thought i would open a thread where fans could come and find refuge from all the Tony/Weatherly hatred/negativity on other boards.
I know I need somwhere to go to when i read something that upsets me, but can't reply because you know it will lead to an all out war.
I love Tony, i think he is a much more complex character than people give him credit for, i have a theory that the people who only see the nasty side of Tony take people at face value and judge books by their covers.
There is nowhere you can post a positive view on Tony without it coming down to a Tony/Mcgee war of words. What do you think?

i agree with Sorgina, but if you feel there is a probelm, please contact either me or Sorgina (:

I know what you mean, you cant have a possitive thought or view without having McGee and Tony's brother like fighting... they really arnt that bad. They are just like two brother's would act. And considering Tony didnt have any sibling's growing up... it's only fair.

I've lost my point, i know. lol..

I like Tony. He can be a bit annoying, but he has done some nice things too. He has proven himself a few times that he is capable of being good at his job. I think when anyone is caught in a tough situation you always do your very best to get out of it. Some confuse his character to his personal self too which I feel is unfair. His faults are what makes Tony who he is, just the same as all the other characters. I tried to point that out to a few folk. Personally I never thought of Tony being nasty, more cheeky and pesky. After all if Tony didn't act like he does he wouldn't be Tony Dinozzo. Abby said to Tony and Tim -Tam? or was it Ziva, that she wished they'd have a safer job somewhere else but, if they didn't have the jobs there at ncis they would never see each other. I think he'll mature a little more with each season, after all if something happened to Gibbs, then he would be the one to take over the role, but would need to act more grown up, but still have that same sense of humour. I believe the headslapping is lesser this season because Michael W. said people were going up to him in the street and doing it. Even when he was with his mother. So they toned it down. I don't know how old you guys are, but men in their 30's do tend to act out a bit (no offence now) . Do you find this valuable?

Oh my gosh, are you serious?! Hahaha.

I have never found Tony annoying. I find him highly amusing, and when he does the "annoying" or "mean" stuff, like going through people's personal stuff, or teasing McGee, I just smile and shake my head and think "That's Tony for you". It's part of who he is, and if he didn't do that sort of stuff, he wouldn't be himself. Cheeky and pesky is a good description of him, but nasty...I wouldn't call him nasty. His pranks and humour aren't meant to be mean, they are meant in fun.

Exactly Jess! I love to give people cheek and play practical jokes and I'm in my 50's...LOL ...Tony may pry a bit, but as you say, thats part of his makeup. In real life he's probably nothing like that. Mark Harmon I believe is a great practical joker at ncis and hes 57yrs old.

LOL! Lots of people love to give cheek and play practical jokes. I know a few people that are older that love to do it. I think humour doesn't care how old you are. I'm sure if Tony knew whatever he did seriously annoyed or hurt someone, he wouldn't do it anymore. But since no-one voices any (serious) annoyance or gripes with him, he continues to behave in that manner, which makes him who he is - an adorably charming, hilarious guy. Hehehe

Yep. i'm too old for him, but I sure could help him play tricks on people. I would like to see Mcgee get his own back occassionally at Tony. I know he did in Love and War as I saw it tonight. Have you done the "What would you dress Tony" in game, or the "Where would you go on a Date" with him game? Don't forget the caption pictures as well. Do you find this valuable?

He was the reason for the head slapping in the first place, I think Sean was messing around on set and Mark just head slapped him and they added it to the show because everyone thought it was hilarious

Just read on the NCIS wiki "there are a lot more DiNozzo haters than i thought! I haven't seen anyone else against any other characters except jenny". Sorry if i have stolen this and am in the wrong for putting it here but i just thought that YES there does seem to be a lot of MW/TD haters around. I know there are certain characters people do not like, but nowhere have i seen such hatred pointed towards any of the others. Why is that i wonder. Why do people feel the need to say that they wish Tony would die, or that Mcgee or Gibbs would punch him. Am i missing something here, is Tony really sooooo bad? There are certain people who write really nasty and spitefull things about him, i know everyone has an opinion but need they be so nasty. This is why i started this thread lol, somewhere that is Tony friendly, to chat and discuss things that i dare not say on other forums. Somehow the haters feel the need to say again and again how much they hate him, ok enough already, you made your point now shut up and concentrate on the characters that you like for goodness sake.
Ok rant over, i just get so mad with all the negativity out there.
Breath in- Breath out- ok am calm now lol

TO NCISlOVER: You have done the right thing by Michael by putting this talk thread for him here. Have you played his T-shirt game and his caption games over here darl". More Tony lovers will filter over as they get sick of hearing the negative stuff over in NCIS. In the meantime, talk to those who understand Tony and care about him. Do you find this valuable?

hey ncislover, (you have a good name by the way! gettit?) I know what you mean about on the NCISwiki about tony disliking threads, just don't read them! Thats what I do and if people want to say that you will only find the same band of people posting comments on the threads, they are losers. Do you find this valuable?

Thanks NCISlover161, hmmm great minds think alike "gottit "lol. Yes there are a few on the NCISwiki that i take offence to (I have to read them can't stop myself dammit ), What makes me upset about them is, even if i felt such hatred towards a certain character, i would at least respect their fans and give a constructed view on them not spout pure hatred for character and or actor. I respect other fans opinions and would hate to upset anyone by slagging off their fave. I wonder what would happen if i spouted such hatred about Gibbs/Mark or Mcgee/Sean, i have a feeling i would be banned and deservedly so. It is not just NCISwiki i have to say, the Tony/Weatherly haters seem to think it is their right to spout their hatred about him, i have never seen such venom directed at any other character on this show. Ah well, some people think he is just a "Pretty Boy" getting by on his looks. We know different though lol wink wink Do you find this valuable?

Of course we know different. Peolpe should get to know the person behind the character. Its the real person who really counts. Do you find this valuable?
