How is Michael's talent wasted in NCIS? Do you think he should be out doing bigger and better things? More Movies prehaps?

I don't think it's wasted at all. There's nothing wrong with being a TV actor, besides which it can be combined with other activities like film-making or theatre 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I agree. I think the show is a great place for him. The great thing about TV shows with great stories and with a great cast is that everyone's performance adds to everyone else's. MW is great at playing off of the other actors, and vice versa. The interaction between the characters is one of the things I love about the show. Plus, we wouldn't see as much of him in movies, as it can take a few years from beginning to release date to complete a movie.

Whereas I would love to see Michael in a well done, well written movie more often, I don't think he "wastes" his considerable talent on NCIS. It's great to see him develope this multi-layered character of Tony DiNozzo, and show us each week how adept he is at not only perfect (and hilarious!) comic timing, but break-your-heart drama. And I agree that its great, and downright refreshing, to be a fan of an actor who is perfectly happy to work on a well written/produced TV show, and go to work each day with a group of actors and techs that obviously consider each other "family". I would love to see Michael have the opportunity to do other projects in the future, but for now, I love watching him work his magic each week on my favorite TV show. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Certainly not...he's capable of different personas...funny...stupid...serious....bad temper....
I think they will alll persue other acting positions...Lets just hope they are in between NCIS.

If NCIS was not such a well-rounded show, I would say yes, but this ain't FRIENDS for crying out loud. Just look at the last 3 eps of season 6 for proof of him using his acting ability. Plus, he has said himself he has learned so much while working on NCIS (mostly from Mark Harmon) that to say he is wasting his talent there is an insult to everyone who works on NCIS. There is a certain challenge in exploring every facet of your character and I think they are just on the tip of the iceberg with Tony. I can't wait to see where they go next. Also, there's a freedom he gets on NCIS (ad-libbing) that he probably would not get in movies until later on when he's established himself.

When it comes down it to it, I'm too selfish to want him to leave tv for movies permanently. I like seeing him multiple weeks in a row. :D

I couldnt agree more jrfan. Tony does need to mature though, but not loose any of his humour. Perhaps it could be channelled into another other instead of sarcasam...practical jokes that sometimes back fire on him..or is set up by someone so they do..lol.. Do you find this valuable?

I definitely think he needs to keep his humor as well. It's going to be tough for the writers to give him a new style of humor but NCIS has always had great dialogue so here's hoping. Perhaps his humor will be less seen but it will be more brilliant because of it. Do you find this valuable?

A bit more of maturity and responsibility as we have seen him do when Gibbs has let him take over. And then he seems to lapse backwards.... Do you find this valuable?

I think all the characters were a bit *off* last season, especially Tony and MvGee. MW said in an interview done for Australia's Ch. Ten, that he felt Tony was over-compensating for his feelings about Jenny's death, and kind of used his humor to mask that. But I agree, I think Tony can be both funny and competent, and in the light of the last two episodes, he should be shown as having grown quite a bit. I have faith that the writers will do justice to our boy in S7! Do you find this valuable?

Yes...I think this incident with Michael Rivkin will hopefully make him wake up a bit. We still want his sense of humour but less stupidity. This is why I don't think Ziva is not the right person for him. She has too many hang ups of her own to be of any emotional help to Tony. Do you find this valuable?

I certainly don't think he is wasted on NCIS... it's a good venue for his acting range. He gets to exercise a lot of different aspects of personality with his character, from the playful frat-boy that women love to hate for his antics, and men likely love, or identify with, to the serious investigator, who has his job down cold, or even the heart-broken playboy that every woman would love to console, showing that he has a heart of gold after all. Not many character come along with quite that range to play. I think they cast DiNozzo well, and when NCIS runs its course, he shouldn't have any difficulty finding another good role(s)! TV OR movies! Do you find this valuable?

I think Michael's talents are not wasted but they did need a strong flexible actor to play Tony's part especially when having to work with other formidable talents. I'm hoping that he won't need another show after NCIS is over, because he'll be old enough to retire! =] Do you find this valuable?

Getting dizzy dancing in circles, lol! And windykat, I hope that NCIS goes at *least* another few years, and that then MW will do something else with his talent(he said in one of the Italian interviews from this summer that he sees himself in ten years married with lots of kids, working with interesting people.)

The pictures that we saw from Milan are of Michael and his girlfriend of two years, Bojana Jancowicz(sp.?), who is in Medical School.

Kids? Hmmmmm that will take some thought. As DiNozzo, maybe not yet; more evolution required, but as Michael W.? I think he would be a really fun Dad to have. I bet you he'd be a fun mate as well. He just seems like the kind of person who is always happy and "up", not negative or down a lot. I hope so anyway.
