Someone defined Anthony DiNozzo ''a mysterious man''. We know him for eight years, but we know so little about him and his past. So, waiting for Tony's origins episode, I thought that we could try to find answers to some of many unswered questions about him. These are the first three that came my mind: - Why did he change job and city so many times? - Why his father sent him to Rhode Island Boarding School after his mother's death? - Why Gibbs hired him after a ''smile''? lol Answers? Other questions? Let's start talking!!! Do you find this valuable?

"Someone defined Anthony DiNozzo ''a mysterious man''. We know him for eight years, but we know so little about him and his past.--I got the impression from F&B that DiNozzo Sr. just didn't know what to do when it came to raising a child and didn't want to take time away from his "career" to raise his son. Boarding schools and summer camps were an option for a man with money to pay the tuition. --I'm wondering if all of Tony's (and Sr.'s) moving around when he was a kid was, indirectly, a reason why Tony continued to move from city-to-city later after he became a cop. Other possibilities: boredom (Tony thinks outside the box and picks up things very quickly; if he wasn't being challenged, he might have become bored and moved on to another city and another police dept.) or maybe just not liking the city. He seems to look back very fondly on Baltimore, so I'm wondering if he just got a better job offer from Gibbs :) Also, if Tony had infiltrated a mob family in Baltimore, that would have made future undercover work much more dangerous for him. He might have chosen to move on to NCIS rather than wait for things to cool off. Do you find this valuable? |

--Why did Tony decide to become a cop?--How did Tony's mother die? --Did Tony and Gibbs meet when their jurisdictions cross on a Baltimore case? (guess we're probably getting ready to get the answer to this one!) --How long was Tony undercover during the Macaluso case, and how did that case end? BTW--nice avatar ;) Do you find this valuable? |

We also know Tony moved up the ranks quickly with the police force, which being the son of supposedly wealthy parents with a degree in sports, probably would have made up unpopular quickly, plus the fact there was probably only so far he could move up within the force without being forced into the office/political side of it. And we all know Tony likes being out in the field and solving the crime puzzle

Ok, I have no answers, but have you guys noticed several of the last cases remind you of Tony's life. Tonight, they said the dead guy was always laughing and you never knew he was upset. Then the other episode, when the father and son were estranged, and I know there was another.. Oh yeah the guy killed on the yacht. He was rich like Tony and that ep reminded me of Tony. I think they are foreshadowing for a Tony finale!! Who's with me? Do you find this valuable? |

Ok Rose I just have to say that avatar is most distracting. From my previous post, you can see that I could not remember the titles of any of the eps I was talking about, even tonights. Plus I could barely put a single sentence together. Duh, what was I saying again. I just can't stop looking at your avatar.....

They're also mentioning Baltimore a bit more often. There was also the comment made in "Recruited" about the boy having lost his mother and the effect that can have on children at a young age. "It is a little distracting--but in a good way *grin*"In a very, very good way. Wow! Tony said that there were extenuating circumstances surrounding his leaving Philly (I believe that was the one) in "High Seas." I've always wondered what those extenuating circumstances were. I agree with you about why Tony was sent to boarding school. I think that Senior didn't know how to communicate with his son any more - Tony said in "Broken Arrow" that the last real conversation they had together as father and son was before his mother died. Also, Senior was so busy finding new wives that I feel like he just sent Tony to boarding school to free up his time to find wives, JMO. I have a theory about the being hired to NCIS because of a smile. I'm thinking maybe Tony was hurt during their case together - possibly saving Gibbs or something and that when Gibbs (who would have been really worried) asked him how he was doing that Tony just smiled at him (maybe with a thumbs up) and Gibbs was impressed by that (along with Tony's work on the case) and hired him. I agree with you about Tony. Many parents sent their children to boarding schools, if they don't want to have the responsibility of their nurture. We're getting anxious waiting for Tony's episodes to find answers and of course the big SF. In my opinion it might be something ΒIG about Tony. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Woooowwww Rosie your new avatar TOOO HOT!!!! I'm with you kathrins, I think that S8F will be about Tony. Maybe all that cr*p that his colleagues (Z&MG) threw on his face in the last two seasons and Gibbs never tried to stop them, Tony wants to quit with NCIS and ti will up to Gibbs to find a way to keep him in DC and at NCIS. A Tony-Gibbs SF would be great and we also could find some answers to our questions. Tony could tell Gibbs something like ''I miss the old times when you and me were the team. Do you remember my first case with NCIS?'', or Gibbs could try to make remember why he didn't leave after two years as he always did before meeting him. Do you find this valuable? |

I hope tonight's ep with the psychiatrist will let us know if Tony has really been in therapy. I would like to see Gibbs reflect on the Requiem episode and his fatherly feelings for Tony. I also like the idea of reflecting on Kate and hope they do have extra scenes from that ep they could show. I am a little excited about this ep. I hope it's a good one.

The past episodes seem like they are giving us a lot of Gibbs and tony moments. I kind of think Gibbs is very worried about Tony and keeping him close at hand. But I also wonder if (or how they are going to do a Gibbs and Tony rift since they seem to be getting along now? Any opinions?

My guess is that Vance, with whatever is current game is, will set the members of the team at odds with each other.

It always goes back to Vance. I can't figure out what is up with him. I can't see the explosion causing him to act like that.

It seems so, yes. At any rate, he's got something going on with his transferring Barrett's team back to DC and conferring with Barrett without the team's being privy to it. Plus he seems to be walking around with a major chip on his shoulder. I've never really trusted Vance, as I've always gotten the impression that he has an agenda and the team and everyone else is collateral damage in relation to it.

I felt that way at first, but I was really starting to change my mind since he let them rescue Ziva and seemed to support Gibbs during last season's finale. Now I think I've been played....I thought he had gotten over the chip on his shoulder, now it seems bigger than ever.
